Additional Training #2 for “Overjoyed” by Stevie Wonder – Fingerstyle Guitar
What are These Videos? These are guitar lesson videos. Enjoy!
Many students and fans often ask why I play certain guitar arrangements differently in concert than the way I teach them on my Instructional DVDs.
It’s because they have developed and evolved – and still do!
These “support” videos will keep you up to date on changes & insights to these fingerstyle guitar arrangements.
In this video: Here are NEW insights and updates to the “Overjoyed” arrangement in the DVD How to Play the Music of Stevie Wonder for Fingerstyle Guitar (Vol I)
God Bless, and please enjoy the music! Please leave a comment below, and I hope the lessons are helpful to you!

Hey Adam thanks for all your generous input to many topics with guitar techniques and performance experiences. I learned a few of your arrangement’ s from watching YouTube videos you posted but recently also purchased your DVDs for Stevie Wonder to pickup nuances I may missed. I normally play jazz gigs with a trio. I am now working on pushing myself to a lot more solo guitar gigs for many reasons including the reality that many places just can’t always afford to pay for a group. The jbksot demo is my first attempt at self recording using backing tracks on YouTube and my website jazzguitarjbksot.com is a self made webpage so alot of what say is meaningful to me. When I have a few of your arrangement ‘s posted maybe you can give a listen and see what you think. Currently using a Cordoba nylon string guitar for my solo playing which speaks well for arrangements at least for me. Thanks again jbk.

JBK – playing solo and learning arrangements is the smartest choice I have made in the last 10 years. I too played trio, and for touring it is a financial disaster unless you already have a big name. Just keep learning those arrangements – you will be happy you did!!! AR
Hi Adam!
Just wanted to leave a quick comment 🙂 thank you for time and dedication you put in these videos. I am steadily working my way through this piece :p
Thanks so much!
Ryan, thank you, and sorry for the late reply! – AR
HI Adam,
waiting for your Stevie Wonder videos (anxiously) since ordering a few weeks ago …must say 1st heard and saw you as a guest with Steve Krenz (L&MG in Nashville) …last year 2014?? …love your natural presentation style and your generous nature for teaching …when I am good enough I will invest in a Maton Michael Fitz also …its such a sweet tone you coax from your instrument …love your playing ..thank you ..cheers Rex Yackandandah Australia.
I like that you said everything isn’t written in stone,I think that might help to develope a persons own style
Thanks for Adam for your video.
I personally ‘treat’ any arrangement just as a guide, and make it work for me and my style of playing. After all we are musicians and should be creative. Saying that, I’m not taking anything away from your beautiful and clever arrangements.
Cheers
Rudi
Boy Adam, every time I see you play it’s as if you are greeting an old friend, one who has nurtured you throughout your life. You are in tune with the rhythm of each other, married for the moment to bring life to the words, and notes on a page. As you play you are at peace, not only do you play the songs, you feel them. The sound must give you back the feelings and emotions that maybe you have experienced at various times in your life, and those old memories take up residence in your body once again whenever you play. Music transforms us all, and moves people in a way that nothing else can.
Thanks for sharing your gift.
I can’t wait for my first DVD/book to arrive.
