Adam, I’ve been playing almost 20 years, but in some ways have never progressed beyond advanced beginner. My fingerpicking is rudimentary, my fretboard knowledge sketchy, and I struggle to play up the neck. I do have a good sense of timing and rhythm, and play in church almost every week. I have no trouble memorizing chord progressions for songs, and have learned how to transpose songs on the fly using a capo, without writing down the new progression.
I’m going to work on learning “Oh Holy Night” to improve my fingerstyle dexterity. I’m also learning ukulele, which will help with learning the upper registers of my guitar. I’m also building my own ukulele. Lots to keep me busy until Christmas. Thanks for the free lessons.
