I hope you enjoy my performance of the Bill Withers classic – “Ain’t No Sunshine” electric guitar version.
This is my 3rd guitar version of this tune! You can hear my solo fingerstyle version (#2) here:
I’m playing it on my brand new Custom Telecaster built by Clemens Wagner in Linz, Austria. Clemens is my main repair guy, and this unbelievable guitar was hanging out in his shop. I went in to get a re-fret on my trusty Maton guitar….next thing I know, I’m buying a Custom Telecaster!
My Guitar Recording Set Up
Guitar geek alert:
• The guitar has Lindy Fralin Pickups
• I’m using D’Addario 0.10 gauge strings
• Do you like the jazzy chord substitutions?

Simon Way says
Adam – that’s great. I also have a custom Tele – what is the width at the nut?
I put Danny Gatton pickups in mine. Fingerstyle players need more space there, I think. What is your your muting device made of?
Also I had a Warmoth neck built for my Strat that is about 1 13/16” at the nut. Kinman Hank Marvin impersonator pickups. Constantly trying to get the perfect fingerstyle electric.
God bless – Simon
Adam Rafferty says
Simon – no idea, standard width! Mute is a typical velco wrap around mute I saw at an online music retailer – to dampen open strings. Lindy Fralin PIckups, guitar by Clemens Wagner – a Linz luthier. ROck on!
