Here’s my performance of the Burt Bacharach classic – “The Look of Love ” fingerstyle guitar NEW version.
My favorite version is the Dusty Springfield version!!! Diana Krall’s version is also good, but Dusty’s is the definitive one for me…so sexy! 🙂
The Sergio Mendes / Brasil 66 version is also a good one – look it up. They do some clever 1/2-step modulations after the first phrase.
Why did I record a NEW version of “The Look of Love” fingerstyle guitar version?
Here it goes… I arranged the old version with the capo at the 4th fret, so I could play in the original key – C# minor (as if it were in A minor). However, I always felt that the melody of the first arrangement sounded very “choked.” It was a fight to play rather than a joy… it just didn’t sing or roar enough.
I just HAD to go back to the drawing board and come up with something I felt good about. This new version sings! I hope you enjoy this NEW version.
